Help to Buy in its current format runs out early next year. For now, it can be used on homes up to £600,000 and is available to those sold subject to contract as well as first time buyers. From March 2021 it will be restricted to first time buyers only and regional price caps will be introduced.
Purchasers benefit from a 20% equity loan that’s interest free for five years, so a 5% deposit and 75% mortgage from a lender of choice is sufficient to own a home.
