Roping in help from Redrow has enabled Hartford Manor Primary School to give every child a skipping rope and line the shelves with new books.
The Friends of Hartford Manor Primary School received £1,000 from our Hartford Community Fund.
FOHM chair Michelle Bebbington said: “The introduction of year group ‘bubbles’ during the pandemic has restricted children’s access to a variety of resources including playground equipment and library books. With Redrow’s help we’ve sourced a skipping rope for every child, helping to encourage them to stay fit and active and enabling the school to take part in the locally run ‘Every Child Skips’ campaign.
“We’ve also used the funding to source additional books for each of the classrooms, where mini libraries have been created to offer a COVID safe alternative to the main library.”
The school was one of six beneficiaries of our latest Hartford Community Fund, which saw £5,000 shared amongst good causes close to the Weaver Park and Water’s Reach developments.

Area sales manager Caroline Thompson-Jones said: “The pandemic has affected everyone in different ways and children have shown great resilience in adapting to the challenge of learning at home and changes to their school experience. We were happy to step in and help the Friends of Hartford Manor source additional resources to support children’s health and wellbeing and encourage a love for reading.”
Our voluntary community funds have seen more than £25,000 gifted to the Hartford area in recent years. This funding is in addition to our statutory investment in the neighbourhood with significant contributions to things like education, affordable housing, highways improvements and open space.
