Netball club wins Redrow support

7th September 2021
Redrow - News - North West - Ellesmere Port Youth Netball Club Sponsorship

Netting our funding has enabled Ellesmere Port Youth Netball Club to score new equipment for younger players.

The self-funding community club, based at Ellesmere Port C of E College, has 140+ junior members, include 30 who are under seven.

Fundraising officer Tracey Sadler explained: “Attending the club offers children the chance to make new friends, learn social skills and be part of a team, as well as participating in sport which is important as part of a healthy lifestyle. When the new group of younger players, aged only five, started learning the basics, they were using the wrong size equipment, which made training difficult. Thanks to Redrow we were able to buy smaller posts, plus training hoops and bibs. We also bought additional smaller sized balls to enable drill training in line with England Netball COVID guidelines.”

We gifted almost £600 to EPYNC via the West Cheshire Fund, linked to new homes being built at Ledsham Garden Village and The Pastures, Backford Cross.

The community fund has shared £10,000 between good causes locally.

Area sales manager Amanda Hollins said: “It’s great to see younger children taking up sports like netball and having fun while leading an active lifestyle. At Redrow we’re keen supporters of grassroots sport and understand the importance of having the right tools for the job, which is why we were happy to offer a grant to Ellesmere Port Youth Netball Club.”

The West Cheshire Community Fund is in addition to our investment in the wider area linked to two local housing developments.

Ledsham Garden Village is a scheme of circa 2,000 homes set amid 100 acres of open space, with Redrow having committed to investing £13 million to support the growth of the neighbourhood.

The Pastures is a 100-home development that will also see almost £250,000 invested in local education, healthcare amenities and towards sports pitches in the area.
