Next phase of new homes at former aerodrome site set for take off

A new phase of homes has launched at our Woodford Garden Village, former site of the historic Woodford Aerodrome.

The 30 larger properties – inclusive of three-bedroom ‘Lifestyle’, four and five-bedroom homes – are set to be completed as part of Shackleton Fields on the already-thriving development, with prices for the prestigious properties currently starting from £1,020,995.

There will be seven styles in this latest phase which continues to reflect the site’s history and importance to the area and British aviation; it’s been named after the Shackleton long-range maritime patrol aircraft developed by Avro in the late 1940s.

So-titled in tribute to polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton, it was developed by Avro from the Avro Lincoln bomber - itself a development of the famous wartime Avro Lancaster bomber, more than 4,000 of which were built at Woodford during WWII – and was created as part of Britain’s response to the rapid expansion of the Soviet navy.

Among the latest detached homes from our celebrated Heritage Collection, which combines traditional, craftsmanship exteriors with chic, contemporary open plans interiors, is the five-bedroom Sandringham Premium from £1,020,995.

The five-bedroom executive home is undeniably impressive, having an upgraded specification that includes underfloor heating, bi-fold doors to the kitchen, a New England-style kitchen from Symphony Kitchens, a choice of tiled Porcelanosa or Amtico flooring to the kitchen, dining, bathroom and main en-suite.
