Our South Midlands division, which is currently building new homes at King’s Meadow, on Kings Avenue, has donated £12,000 to community groups across the region, including the Royal British Legion’s, City of Ely branch which has received a £1,000 donation.
Since building started at the development, and as part of our commitment to create thriving communities, we’ve launched a number of initiatives to support local residents. This includes an annual community fund, where groups can apply for funding for their projects, but also regular donations to local charities.
The donation will help support an international trip across Europe for more than twenty local war veterans to revisit famous battlefields from the two World Wars. David William Martin, Branch Chairman at City of Ely, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Redrow South Midlands for this generous donation. The money will help reduce the cost and subsidise travel and accommodation fees for the veterans as they revisit famous battlefields across Europe.”

The Royal British Legion is a national institution that provides care, support, and employment for veterans, retired armed forces members and people with disabilities.
