Redrow helps preserve Towcestrians' pitch
The award-winning housebuilder is building at Burcote Park, Wood Burcote, near Towcester, and teamed up with the club, offering £1,500 in sponsorship to help cover costs.
The club’s Richard Michael said: “As an amateur Rugby Club with annual running costs in the region of £65,000, sponsorship from companies like Redrow makes a massive difference to us. During the winter we’ve had issues with the pitch being water logged and so Redrow’s sponsorship has proven invaluable as it’s enabled us to hire indoor training facilities.”
Towcestrians RFC play in the London and South East Premier League with many of its opponents semi-professional teams.
Towcestrians Sports Club also has hockey, tennis and cricket facilities and has ambitious plans to expand.
“Towcester and the surrounding villages are growing and with more people living in the area there’s a need for additional sports facilities,” Richard added.
“It’s an exciting time for the club as we have a £3.7 million expansion plan to provide a floodlit rugby pitch and training area, a bespoke cricket pitch, Astro turf hockey facilities, floodlit tennis courts, a fitness trail, plus changing rooms and toilets amongst other facilities. We’re keen to hear from potential sponsors who could support this project or the day to day running of our teams and facilities.”
Tonia Tyler sales director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), said: “Towcester and Wood Burcote are thriving communities and sports clubs like Towcestrians play an important role in making the neighbourhood a great place to live. At Redrow we’re keen to support sports at grass roots level and help people stay fit and active. It’s great to know that our sponsorship has helped Towcestrians continue training during the winter.”
Redrow’s homes at Burcote Park are just two miles from Towcestrians. The development features a good choice of three, four and five-bedroom homes available, with prices from £340,950. For details see www.redrow.co.uk/burcote.
