Charlotte is our area sales manager for the South West. For almost a decade she has helped many families find their dream homes. We caught up with her to discuss her career, finding the work life balance and keeping active outside the office.

Hi Charlotte, can you tell us a little bit about your career before and whilst at Redrow?
“I have always been very career minded. After leaving college I wanted to test myself, and develop my skills, in a working environment. So, I deferred a university offer to study Travel and Tourism Management and opted to take a year out to work and see if I would have a change of heart. From there, I did not look back.
I secured an apprenticeship with a prominent travel company as a sales executive, and immediately fell in love with the sales environment. Whilst still an apprentice, I was quickly promoted to assistant manager of the store which was a first for the company! It was not long before I was contacted by an area sales manager at Redrow Homes with whom I had a mutual acquaintance. Intrigue got the better of me and we met for coffee, and I left our meeting excited at the prospect of a much bigger sales challenge.
I joined Redrow in June 2012 as a sales consultant, and I immediately felt at home with the role and the company. I was promoted to trainee area sales manager in 2015, and permanently to area sales manager in 2016. I adore my role and although my love for sales got me here, as a manager my passion is people and the team I work with daily.”
What does a typical day look like for you?
“I don’t think there is such a thing as a typical day as an area sales manager! That is the beauty of the job! The nature of construction and sales in this industry is that it is so unpredictable, and the only consistent thing about a typical day is the need to be able to think quickly, act fast, and adapt to whatever scenario is put in front you.”
What is the secret for a great Redrow development?
“Every Redrow development has a great product! We have industry leading developments with well considered layouts in wonderful locations.”
How do you enjoy your time away from the office?
“I can honestly say I have a fantastic work life balance. I have recently purchased stand up paddleboard and a Kayak, and love nothing more than to pack up for the weekend, head to the coast and get out on the water. Travel is a huge passion of mine and I am also a member of a CrossFit gym. I am a massive foodie, and most of my trips revolve around finding somewhere unique to dine out!”
What is your claim to fame?
“I must admit to being a huge secret geek! I won a competition when I was twelve to guest edit Newsround on CBBC and I appeared on a special section on the show all about my time as editor! I really wanted to be a journalist growing up. Thankfully, there is no copy of this episode online. I have searched far and wide and it is long gone apart from the old VHS recording my mum has hidden!”
