First residents move into Leighton Buzzard development
A local couple are among the first to move into a new development in Leighton Buzzard.
Jonathan Reeks and Claire Howard bought their first property together at our Leestone Park development, on Heath Road, after moving from a rented property that they shared together.
Originally from Hemel Hempstead and Surrey, the couple moved to Leighton Buzzard in 2018 and first set eyes on Redrow flags outside Leestone Park while exploring the town. They knew straight away that they wanted to live at the development and emailed Redrow Homes South Midlands to register their interest.
With our assistance, the couple were able to find their dream home easily and reserve their preferred plot once released. While waiting for the build of their home to complete, they were able to save for the final part of their deposit.
Jonathan (36) and his partner (28) were the first legal completion at Leestone Park and moved into Redrow Homes’ four-bedroom Stratford home in summer.
Jonathan commented: “Buying a brand-new property was crucial for us, as it allowed us to utilise the government’s Help to Buy scheme to buy our dream property now, without saving for another five years. As we were on a tight budget, we also liked the idea of moving into a home that wouldn’t require any hidden maintenance costs or substantial decorating. All we’ve needed to do since moving in is add our personal touches and buy furniture.”
Jonathan added: “We were initially drawn to Redrow as the homes that we looked at were spacious, with high ceilings, great specification and lots of parking. Other developers in the area were building shoeboxes for homes, and it was important that our home had longevity and was built with quality in mind.”
Jonathan and his partner chose the Stratford style of home to move into at Leestone Park. He explains: “The Stratford was definitely the right decision for us – it offers open plan living spaces, with a spacious kitchen and dining area perfect for entertaining. The en-suite bathroom to the master bedroom, ground floor cloakroom and additional laundry room have all been designed to make life easier, we’re really making the most of the extra space.”
Designed with both practicality and style at its core, the Stratford is filled with all of the latest features that a modern couple could need, while the contemporary, elegant interiors mean homeowners can enjoy them in luxury.
Jonathan concludes: “We love our new home, and are thrilled to be living at Leestone Park. Even though we were some of the first movers, there is already a real community feel, it feels like we’ve been here for ages. With us both working in Milton Keynes, the commute is a breeze as well – we couldn’t be happier.”
Those looking to move to Leestone Park in Leighton Buzzard could also take advantage of the government-backed Help to Buy scheme, which has already helped over 150,000 people purchase their own home.
Using the Help to Buy scheme means people only need a deposit of five percent. Buyers can then borrow 20 percent of the purchase price in the form of an equity loan, meaning movers have access to more affordable interest rates typically associated with a 25 percent deposit.
Leestone Park offers the ideal balance of rural living and great connections to surrounding towns. The centre of Leighton Buzzard is just a mile and a half away from the development, and the handy train station means you can travel to Milton Keynes in less than fifteen minutes. In due course, there are also plans for a new lower school and local centre to be built on the development, as well as an orchard and plenty of open spaces that will create even more benefit for families.
