Our Thames Valley division, currently building new homes at The Steeples, on Barton Fields Road, presented youngsters at Barton Park Primary School with a very special type of Redrow home.
The new play house, which is designed to encourage imaginative outdoor play, was officially unveiled in the playground, and pupils couldn’t wait to take a look inside.
Barton Park School, which was created with partial funding from the Thames Valley division, opened in September 2020 and currently teaches 20 pupils across two year groups. The new play house forms the first step in plans to develop the playground into a more interactive and enjoyable space.
Bryony McCraw, Head of School at Barton Park Primary School, said: “The children were so excited when they saw the new play house for the first time, and they couldn’t wait to get inside and start playing with their friends.
“Facilities like this really do help to encourage outdoor learning, and inspire children to use nature and their surroundings as part of imaginative play. As a new school, we’re incredibly grateful for Redrow’s donation, and judging by the amount of time the children have spent in the play house already, we know they are too!”
As part of the ongoing partnership between us and school, we also donated our stop and go signs to be used in an educational road safety event for pupils.
Sarah Boyce, Sales Director at the Thames Valley, added: “We are delighted to have donated a new play house to Barton Park school, and to have been able to put smiles on so many children’s faces.
“Here at Redrow, we strive to establish thriving communities, which is why it’s incredibly important to create an environment, both in school and out, that provides children with the space to explore and grow.
“We are committed to building more than just houses, forming long-lasting partnerships like this across all of our developments. We hope that the children of Barton Park Primary School enjoy creating many happy memories in their brand new Redrow home and you never know, we may see them in a house of their own on one of our developments in the future!”
