New home in Barton gives family room to grow
Renting out their old home and moving across the Humber Bridge to a brand new home in Barton upon Humber has given Steve Heslop and partner Anneka Gledhill-Brown the space they craved.
Their move to a four-bedroom detached home was made possible thanks to Redrow’s competitive prices and the offer of a 95% mortgage through the NewBuy initiative.
Steve says: “Since having our son Finlay we felt we were growing out of our two-bedroom terraced home and so looked in the Hull suburbs for somewhere bigger. At a friend’s suggestion we looked at Redrow’s Fox’s Fold development and we really liked what we saw.”
The couple had bought their first home at a high price and without substantial equity they feared they would be held back from moving.
“The value for money at Fox’s Fold is brilliant and we were delighted to discover we could afford to buy a four-bedroom detached home just 10 miles away from where we living,” Steve adds.
“David Skelton, the sales consultant, put us in touch with a mortgage specialist who explained that we could rent out our current property and buy somewhere new with a 5% deposit and 95% mortgage through NewBuy. It’s a great way to move onwards and upwards.”
The couple, both 28, fell in love with Redrow’s New Heritage Collection homes with their traditional Arts & Crafts inspired exteriors and bright, modern interiors. They’re now the proud owners of a four-bedroom Stratford style property.
“We would absolutely recommend Redrow because the whole process was ideal from the very first time we stepped into the sales office as David was warm, welcoming and helpful.”
Steve and Anneka aren’t the only residents of Fox’s Fold to have moved across the Humber Bridge. Redrow has seen an influx of customers from Hull and the surrounding area, especially since bridge toll fees were halved last year.
“We didn’t really know Barton before but spent some time getting to know the area and soon realised that Fox’s Fold has a really nice community vibe that’s perfect for families,” Steve says.
Located in Tofts Road, Fox’s Fold offers a choice of three and four-bedroom homes, with current prices from £124,950.
To see why Steve and Anneka were so keen to move to Fox’s Fold and to find out about the incentives available, visit the sales office and show homes, open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5.30pm.
