Redrow races to support young people in Easingwold
Housebuilder Redrow has stepped forward as one of six main sponsors of the Galtres Fun Run raising money for young people in Easingwold.
It is the second year in a row that the developer has supported the event in aid of Easingwold District Scouts, Guides, Cubs, Brownies, Beavers and Rainbows.
Redrow’s health and safety mascot, Buster Bear, will join participants in Easingwold Market Place on Saturday, June 29. Buster Bear will help join the warm up, led by the local gym, which ensures runners are well prepared for the fun runs.
Helen Sykes, run event and sponsorship organiser, says: “The Galtres Run is a wonderful community event that encourages people to join together and be active. Between the 1.5 mile, three mile and six mile courses we expect around 600 people will take part. We’re extremely grateful for Redrow’s continued support as it’s only thanks to the generosity of our sponsors that we’re able to use all money raised by runners to support Scout and Guide groups in the area.”
Redrow’s contribution is being used to sponsor the six mile run, the course for which passes behind its Oaklands development of three and four-bedroom new homes on York Road.
Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), adds: “Our business is building new homes and creating communities. We also like to get involved in existing communities in the areas where we build. We’re delighted to be able to support the young people of Easingwold by donating £500 towards the cost of running this year’s Galtres Fun Run. We would encourage those who haven’t yet entered to sign up and join in the fun and take part.”
