Luxury homes that put the style into life
And with its new ‘Lifestyle’ homes the award-winning homebuilder has excelled itself, going back to the drawing board to create a range of properties that are designed with specific ways of living in mind.
Built on the footprint of homes that would normally have more bedrooms, they’ve dropped the number of bedrooms by one; but the remaining bedrooms are larger, more spacious, all en-suite and offer a superb level of luxury.
So, a four-bedroom property has become a three-bedroom, or in some case a three a two, but the striking external appearance, spacious reception rooms and other ground floor features remain exactly the same.
“We are always taking a new look at the designs of our homes to see if we can make them even better,” says Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), “and talking to our customers to see what they would like.
“We initially created these homes for downsizers – or rightsizers as we prefer to call them – people moving from older, larger homes who wanted fewer bedrooms but still wanted lots of space for entertaining friends or for when the grandchildren came to stay.
“But we soon realised that other people loved these properties too, including families who similarly liked the extra space and luxury, but also loved the added practicalities and comforts that the Lifestyle properties afford with their bigger bedrooms and an en-suite with each one.”
Redrow has found the layouts work particularly well for families with teenagers or grown-up children living at home, who have plenty of space, privacy and the convenience of their own shower room.
“A third consumer group who love these homes are couples without children who enjoy having family and friends to stay and can offer them boutique hotel style accommodation during their visit,” Patsy adds.
A number of Redrow’s favourite house styles have taken on the Lifestyle label including the hugely popular Oxford, which in its usual guise is a four-bedroom detached home.
While the new, three-bedroom Oxford Lifestyle may look very traditional on the outside, with its bay windows and roofed porch, inside it’s anything but. The master bedroom is more like a luxury hotel suite, stretching the complete depth of the home and boasting a walk-through wardrobe / dressing area and generous en-suite with both a bath and walk-in shower. The two other bedrooms also enjoy an en-suite, completing the impressive specification.
Downstairs, the convenience of an integrated garage takes nothing away from the sense of space available. Homeowners can still enjoy a substantial kitchen/dining room opening out onto the garden, a handy utility and a separate lounge.
Where to buy Redrow’s Lifestyle Homes in Yorkshire
The Oxford Lifestyle can already be found in a village location at Langley Grange, Scissett, near Huddersfield and close to Leeds at The Poplars at Roundwood, Garforth, with prices starting from £329,950 and £384,950 respectively.
And buyers will also be able look forward soon to the Oxford Lifestyle property at City Fields in Wakefield.
At Springfields in Highburton, near Huddersfield, it’s the Leamington which has been given the Lifestyle look, starting from £364,950. Like the Oxford Lifestyle, it’s got three lavish double bedrooms, each with its own en-suite, including a magnificent master bedroom which has a bath and shower and, again, a walk-in wardrobe/dressing room.
Downstairs feels just as spacious, with a full-width open plan kitchen, dining and family room stretching 25ft across the rear of the home. There’s also a separate lounge for those moments of relaxation and a utility room with exterior entrance to keep muddy shoes and wet coats out of the way.
Last, but by no means least, the Ashbourne home which can be found at Churchfields in Green Hammerton, between Harrogate and York, might not have the Lifestyle label, but it has certainly been given the Lifestyle treatment and benefits from three double bedrooms, all with en-suite.
Prices for the Ashbourne start at £429,950 – and include the delights of village life on the doorstep of the Harrogate Road development.
And if the Lifestyle features are not enough to tempt buyers, Redrow has tailor-made incentives to make moving house easier than ever. These include the government-backed Help to Buy equity loan, which means that a deposit of 5% might be sufficient to secure a new home; or Mastermove to help for those with an existing house to sell, with Redrow making a contribution to the fees.
