Redrow Residents in York benefit from free car club membership
RESIDENTS at two of Redrow’s award-winning developments in York are being offered free club car hire membership and £50 driving credit.
An exciting partnership between Enterprise and Redrow now means residents at The Granary and Lancaster Mews, in Water Lane, Clifton can join Enterprise Car Club with two years’ free membership. They then pay by the hour with vehicles available to use for as little as 15 minutes.
People already living nearby can also benefit from the convenience of being able to use a car when they need it.
For ease of access, an Enterprise car will be parked at The Granary for Redrow home owners and other locals to use. In addition, Redrow residents who sign up for the scheme will receive £50 driving credit.
“Our Enterprise Car Club scheme has proven popular with people who might need a car for a quick trip into town, for example shopping and socialising. You can make a one way trip if you prefer and we have cars available across York and Leeds,” said David Murphy, of Enterprise.
“It’s great to be working in partnership with Redrow to provide an incredibly accessible scheme that’s sure to provide good value for residents, providing some real savings when compared against the costs of car ownership.”
The Granary and its neighbour, Lancaster Mews, recently scooped a Residential Development category prize at the UK Property Awards for their combination of Arts & Crafts inspired family homes and Georgian influenced townhouses.
Factors such as the car club initiative were among community features that helped win the award, with Redrow also having invested more than half a million pounds into the local transport system, education and the creation of open space.
Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire) said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Enterprise to offer an initiative which will provide long lasting benefits for residents, helping them to save money and benefit from ease of access to travel to anywhere in the UK.
“It also fits perfectly with our approach to sustainability and helping to ensure that our developments are as kind as they can be to the environment. Our residents having access to the Enterprise car club when they need it may reduce their reliance on private motor vehicles and, in turn, reduce the number of journeys on our roads.
“As a business we promote other eco-friendly measures too, such as 97% of our developments being within 500 metres of a bus stop, tram or train station.”
