South Yorkshire employee awarded prestigious customer service award

Redrow - News - Yorkshire - James Rodri - Customer Service Employee of the Year

James Rodi, 29, from Barnsley scooped the title of Yorkshire’s Customer Service Employee of the Year.

Having worked with us for eight years, James was a sales consultant before he made the move into the customer service department four years ago.

“I’ve always had a passion for property and thrive on delivering first class customer service which is why I left my previous role at Next to work in new home sales,” says James.

Upon finding out he had won the coveted award, James says that having his hard work noticed by his management team means the most and reminds him of why he loves what he does.

“It has been very difficult over the past 12 months because we’ve had to adopt a new way of working to due to Covid. I was one of 14 colleagues who remained working during the initial lockdown to enable us to continue helping our customers move into their new homes and we did the very best we could despite the limit on resources. I’m very proud to work amongst a team who shares the same passion as I do.”

According to James building relationships with customers is one of the best things about his role and why he takes great pride in delivering great customer service.

“I love being part of Redrow, from the homes we build to the ethos of the company and how we want to give our customers the best experience out there,” adds James.

James says he’s gained so much knowledge from his time in sales and now in customer service that he’s excited for where his career may take him.

Lisa Cooke, head of customer service at our Yorkshire division, says: “James has always performed well in his role as customer service manager since he transitioned across from sales, but this past year he has worked hard to improve on his performance and relationships with the site and sales teams he works closely with.  As a result, he has a great reputation with not just his customers but his colleagues too across all of the developments. James truly is a team player and very deserving of this award.”

James’ award was announced during our annual customer conference for all sales and customer service employees from around the UK, which was held virtually this year for the first time.
