Survey reveals City Fields’ Marlow is the perfect Yorkshire home

Canny Yorkshire buyers have got a long list of must-have features when it comes to purchasing their ideal home and they can find it all in the stunning Marlow at City Fields in Wakefield.

In a recent survey conducted to find out what buyers want from their homes post-lockdown, it was revealed that:

  • 74% of Yorkshire respondents think a private drive and garage is important
  • 78% aspire to live in a two-storey detached home
  • 75% said living near to open spaces would be beneficial, and
  • 65% would like enough space in their home to exercise or create a home gym

“And the good news is that the Marlow at City Fields ticks every one of those boxes, and more,” says Steve Jackson, sales director in Yorkshire.

Priced from £346,950, the Marlow is a well-proportioned detached home which boasts a traditional exterior with an open plan contemporary interior. Downstairs there is a large kitchen and dining area that opens up to the garden, a lounge and that now-essential cloakroom and utility, to help with the practicalities of busy family life.

Upstairs there are four double bedrooms, the main with en-suite shower room, as well as a family bathroom. There is also an integrated garage.

“The Marlow is a fantastic family home, with plenty of options to transform an un-used bedroom into a home gym or the working from home office that people are also looking for increasingly too.”

We’ve discovered that post-pandemic, these things are becoming far more essential. With workplaces becoming more flexible on where employees are based and time being divided between the office and home, homes now have to fit the bill and offer flexible space for every need.

“People want to be able to exercise in their home, they want to be able to work in their home and enjoy their home, and the space around it.  We have all realised over the last year that the work life balance is more and more important when it comes to our health and wellbeing, and that means ensuring that not only do we create the right environment in our homes, but our homes are within the right environment too,” adds Steve.

Homes in locations that have great road links and are good for commuting and getting around, but are also close to green, open space have surged in popularity and Steve says that despite City Fields being on the edge of the city, it is quiet and has a peaceful atmosphere.

There are three Marlow house styles remaining at City Fields on Neil Fox Way – from only eight properties in total left for sale.

City Fields is close to Pinderfields Hospital, as well as a planned district hub that’s set to include a supermarket and small shops, a health centre, pub, gym and children’s nursery. Nearby are plenty of parks and open spaces, including Thornes Park.
