Lisa and David have a Redrow home ready for retirement
A vicar and his wife are full of praise for Redrow after finding the perfect home for their future retirement.
David and Lisa, who have four grown-up children, have purchased a Warwick home on the homebuilder’s blossoming Springfields development in Highburton, near Huddersfield and they say the three-bedroom detached property is just what they were looking for.
Lisa, 56 who presently works for a local authority, explains: “David has multiple sclerosis and is still working full time at the moment but, because of his condition, we don’t know how long he will be well enough to be working.
“We have bought the home for when we retire and so it is really reassuring and comforting to know that we have a lovely home to move into, whenever that might be.”
Lisa and David, 52, are already spending days at their new home, which they got the keys to in May this year – one of the first to do so at Springfields.
“We really liked the Warwick because it has a lovely big kitchen and dining area, a separate lounge and a wide and welcoming hallway; as well as three bedrooms so it’s perfect.
“We are used to living in rambling vicarages so we wanted something that was more manageable but still gave us the feeling of space and this does. I love the high ceilings and so much storage space.
“I had done a lot of research before we started to look for a new home and Redrow came up as a really good housebuilder – and we have not been disappointed. The quality is great, we love the house style and the customer service from the sales office to the site managers has been excellent – before and after we completed.”
Lisa who, with David will move into the home with their West Highland Terrier Maisie, adds: “We knew we wanted a new home because of today’s building regulations – it has level access and wider doors which will fit a wheelchair, which is important for us thinking about the future; and it means it will be easier to adapt the house as, and if, we need to.
“It even has a separate garage for David’s mobility scooter.
“The Redrow website is so good,” continues Lisa. “We knew what we wanted before we even set foot in the sales office – and we used My Redrow to choose fittings and added extras like turf and a fence for the back garden.
“Highburton is ideal because it’s only 50 minutes from where we are largely based now so it’s not too far to come for a few days when we wish, we have superb neighbours either side and it’s a lovely village.
“We are surrounded by beautiful countryside while being close to the city of Leeds, and to Huddersfield, and nearby Kirkburton has a lovely library, cafes which spoil Maisie and an excellent, welcoming church.
“We have a new house which we already love; a perfect home just waiting for us.”
Just 10 miles from the stunning Peak District, the Burton Acres Lane development offers three and four-bedroom properties, with available homes currently from £249,950.
