To celebrate the season of love, we called on our homeowners to explain the story of how they fell head over heels for their new homes.
COUPLE START A NEW CHAPTER
First-time buyers Emily and Nathan already loved the Alphington area before they fell for the four-bedroom Oxford at our St Michael’s Meadow development near Exeter.
“We had seen so many houses from different developers, but immediately fell in love with the Heritage Collection from Redrow as it has so much character – especially in comparison with other new build properties,” Emily explained.
"We love the convenience the development offers, as we can easily jump on the motorway, and it’s only a short drive into Exeter city centre. Redrow’s quality and customer service is second to none; they helped us through the whole process.”
NEWLYWEDS’ NEW HOME
First-time buyers Dermot and Lauren were first to reserve a new home at The Maltings, in Haddenham. They’d been married almost a year when they started their home search and were attracted to the four-bedroom Harrogate.
“We were keen to continue married life together with a blank canvas so that everything was in place for us to make our first official house together a home, as we hopefully welcome some little ones in the years to come. We loved the idea of moving to a new development and the community feel that comes when people all share a similar experience at the same time,” Lauren said.
HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS
Gerard, his wife Christina and youngest child, Niamh love the location of their new home.
“We’d come to look at Ledsham Garden Village about two years ago and just fell in love with the place.” Gerard explained.
“The way the village is set out is lovely, you have this beautiful pastoral scene with the village green, and planting and pergolas everywhere. It’s like stepping back in time for all the right reasons. It’s so friendly, and there’s a real community spirit.”
LOVE AT FIRST “SITE”
Jackie loves getting back to her peaceful new home at Anson Meadows at Woodford Garden Village.
“We really liked the style of the houses, with the high ceilings and the way they were designed, and when we walked into a Stratford End show home we all said ‘this is it”, Jackie said.
“I love the home – and my energy bills are a quarter of what they were in my old house.”
FINDING “THE ONE”
Celene and husband Will fell in love with their three-bedroom Eco Electric Letchworth home at our Stone Hill Meadow development.
Romancing about the view from her bedroom, Celene added: “I love the view from our bedroom window, watching the sunrise is beautiful. I absolutely love it! I feel so lucky I can’t believe it’s my view!”
The heart of the home kitchen was also a favourite feature for the couple. “We both love entertaining, so to have an open plan area with plenty of light was a must,” Celene posted.
HAPPY EVER AFTER
Claire had wanted an older property with charm and character, while husband John-Paul preferred the convenience of a new home. They found their perfect match with a visit to Foxbridge Manor in Castle Donington.
“We visited Foxbridge Manor to look at the show homes and fell in love with The Oxford – it ticked all the boxes for both of us, with the character I wanted plus all the benefits of a new build,” Claire said.
COUPLE PLAN FOR FUTURE FAMILY
Lauren and Craig took a ‘leap of faith’ buying their new four-bedroom home during the launch weekend at Bishop Meadows, near Oldham, without even viewing the property.
“We didn’t know exactly what the Chester would look like, but we knew we loved Redrow homes, with their modern interiors and traditional exteriors – so much more aesthetically pleasing than other new homes in the area,” said Lauren.
“It’s a lovely property, and we are already really settled… and it’s good to know that if children come along in the future we won’t need – or want – to move."
FAMILY FEEL THE LOVE
Fiona and Michael, moved into their Marlow home at the Finches at Hilton Grange in Halewood with children Jack and Molly and their Cavapoo, Mo, thanks to a legacy from Fiona’s late mum. “I wanted to invest the money wisely and in something that I could look at and think ‘mum’s done this for us’,” said Fiona. I’m so proud of our new home, and I think she would be too.
Fiona added: “We love the massive kitchen and we spend a lot of time in there. We chose the plot because at the front all we overlook are a lake and the farmer’s fields – we can see alpacas from our bedroom – and at the back we’re not overlooked at all.”
