Redrow East Midlands invited students from Nottingham Trent University to its Newton Garden Village development, at Newton Garden Village, to help individuals understand the varying stages of constructing a new home.
40 budding builders, along with their course lecturer, received a tour of the working site as well as witnessing the process of building a home from scratch.
Students at the beginning of their career heard from Redrow East Midland’s team members who have worked in the construction business for many years. Leading the tour was the division’s Construction Director, Area Construction Manager and Site Manager of the development.
The visit marks the beginning of a partnership between the two organisations which sees the local housebuilder support students completing a degree in Construction Management. As part of the three-year collaboration, Redrow East Midlands will be offering graduate internship opportunities, as well as equipping students with hands-on experience, such as visits to site and gaining access to technical drawings and providing bursaries.

Many of these students will be choosing house building as their future career and it was a joy to speak to them in more detail about the sector while providing them with real life experience of a house building site.
