Our East Midlands division, which is currently building new homes at Durose Country Park, on Mansfield Road, has presented The Hope Centre with a donation of £500 as part of its commitment to creating thriving communities.
The funds will be used to support the charity in providing food parcels to local people in need. With a team of volunteers working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK, The Hope Centre helps to support people in crisis by offering around 50 lunches and 76 food parcels, on average, per week.
Denise Hawley, community worked at The Hope Centre, said: “We’re incredibly grateful for Redrow’s donation, which will greatly benefit people who need some extra support from our foodbank in and around Derby.
“This past year has seen a need for organisations like us to exist, and as we head into another lockdown, we expect demand to increase once again. The more donations we receive, the better, as we can ensure we can fill our food parcels all year round. We rely on the kindness of local businesses and individuals, and this really will make a difference to the lives of those in need.”
Ryan O’Sullivan, Head of Sales in the East Midlands, added: “We are delighted to be supporting The Hope Centre, which provides a vital service to a wide range of people in crisis.
“I’d like to thank all of the volunteers for everything that they do. This past year has been especially tough for many people, and we hope that by supporting such a vital community service we can make things a little bit easier for those who may find themselves in difficult times.”
The donation forms part of our East Midlands division’s Community Fund, which will see us donate a total of £5,000 to local organisations throughout 2021.
