Our East Midlands division is celebrating the ongoing expansion and success, four years on from launching.
The division, which was created in February 2017 and is currently building housing developments across Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire, has delivered a significant number of new homes to its area of operation, building 916 homes in the region since its launch.
The new division saw £13.3 million in community contributions brought to the region in 2017, and has since invested a further £6m in creating new local amenities and community facilities, as well as building a number of primary schools across the region. The division has launched a total of 15 new developments and expanded into new territory, including the creation of our first Garden Village in Nottinghamshire, which launched in April at the former RAF Newton base near Bingham.
Martyn Pask, Managing Director for the East Midlands, reflected on the division’s highlights over the past four years: “Since expanding into the region, Redrow East Midlands really has gone from strength to strength, and just four years on, we are incredibly proud to be recognised by the House Building Federation as a 5* Accredited division.
“Despite the pandemic, interest has remained incredibly high, particularly in our award-winning Heritage Collection, and having embraced market demand, we are already forward selling into 2022.”
Not only have sales soared, the division’s workforce has also increased by 30% since its 2017 opening, which prompted the move to a new, purpose-built head office in Castle Donington at the beginning of 2020.
Commenting on the divisions plans for the next year, Martyn added: “There is a fantastic forecast of economic growth for the East Midlands, thanks in part to the addition of the new Freeport Status within the region, and we are looking forward to continuing to expand and grow, bringing further much-needed new homes in the region.
“We also have a huge focus on bringing local youngsters into the business through apprenticeships and graduate schemes over the next few years. Here at Redrow East Midlands, we value people greatly and are proud to operate in the region. The move to our brand-new divisional office signals our commitment to the East Midlands, and we are keen to support and nurture young, talented people into becoming qualified, well-rounded professionals in a fantastic and greatly rewarding industry.”
