Redrow East Midlands hosted a special careers workshop at its Hugglescote Grange development, on Grange Road, to encourage female students from Bosworth Academy to learn more about career opportunities in the housebuilding sector.
The year 9 students were given the grand tour and invited for a special behind the scenes look at how an active building site works. They were also introduced to trainees and apprentices so they could ask any questions they had on the different career paths available at Redrow.
Chris Smith, Area Construction Manager, at Redrow East Midlands, said: “We thoroughly enjoyed welcoming the pupils to our Hugglescote Grange development.
“We provide many youngsters with the chance to launch a career in housebuilding every year as part of our ongoing commitment to valuing people. At Redrow East Midlands, we offer something for everyone, from funded degrees and graduate programmes to work experience and apprenticeships.
“We’d like to thank all of the students that attended, and we look forward to seeing the pupils blossoming construction careers in the near future."
The meeting also follows the success of Redrow East Midlands’ ongoing apprenticeship scheme, which has been running since 2017. The scheme, which saw the division take on four apprentices in 2022, gives students in the local area an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop a career in housebuilding.
