Our East Midlands division, which recently announced its latest development, Hugglescote Grange near Coalville, has partnered with the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust to help improve the webcam equipment in its Osprey nest at Rutland Nature Reserve. The live streaming facility provides a unique insight into the lives of these special birds and encourages conservationists of the future to learn more about their habitat.
From the birth of chicks to fledglings in the nest, this year in particular, the cameras have brought the great outdoors to many people in lockdown, enabling people all over the world to experience these amazing birds of prey up close from home.
The funding will be used to help improve the live streaming facilities, which encourage and inspire the next generation of conservationists to learn more about local wildlife. The regional partnership also forms part of our wider bio-diversity strategy, which sees us commit to creating nature-rich communities and spaces at its developments.
