Redrow serves a smashing donation to community sports group

Redrow has announced it is supporting a Leicestershire sports initiative as part of its community fund.

Our East Midlands team is currently building new homes at Hugglescote Grange, Leicestershire has presented ME Sports in the Community with a donation of £500 as part of its commitment to creating thriving communities.

ME Sports in the Community provides a range of accessible sporting activities for local people, including clubs, classes and physical education training. The funds will be used to set up a new table tennis club, to give local people affordable access to the sport.

Matt Elliott, Ex Leicester City Captain and Founder of the ME Group, said, “We are incredibly thankful for Redrow East Midland’s donation, which will make a huge difference to the activities on offer for local people.

“Currently, there is very little access to table tennis in Leicestershire, and this is one activity that is consistently requested by our service users. The donation will be used to purchase two new tables and equipment, enabling up to 30 people to play in our community hall on a weekly basis.”


“It's critical to get people out of the house and active, especially after such a tough year, and Redrow’s generation donation will provide yet another activity for local people to enjoy.”

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at ME Sports in the Community for all that they do to improve the wellbeing of those living in the area. This past year has been especially challenging, and we can’t wait to see people finally getting back out and enjoying playing sports again.”

The donation forms part of Redrow East Midland’s Community Fund, which will see the housebuilder donate a total of £5,000 to local organisations throughout 2021.

We’re currently building homes across Leicestershire including two, three and four-bedroom homes in Hugglescote Grange, Leicestershire.
