Leading housebuilder Redrow has donated £1000 to FC Redwing Football Club, enabling the club to purchase new football kits for their youth teams.
The donation was provided just in time for the new playing season, helping to boost spirits and encourage outdoor sports after what has been a turbulent year for many following the Covid-19 lockdowns.
Established in 2000, FC Redwing is a family club run by a team of volunteers. They are one of the largest clubs in the area, with 28 teams and over 400 registered players spanning from U5s all the way to adults. Keen to attract new joiners, the club also offers free sessions to children looking to take up the sport.
Mark Gordon, Head of Academy at FC Redwing Football Club, commented: “We can't thank Redrow enough for their support in helping us set up five new boys’ and girls’ teams. The last few years have been a very testing time for the club and with Redrow's generosity we still have been able to give 36 children the opportunity to not only play football in a fun, positive and safe environment but to feel proud to represent the club in their brand-new kit while they do it."
