We have donated the total sum of £2200 to two community groups in Haverhill, Suffolk.
We sponsored Haverhill Town FC by providing £1000 towards the purchase of new football kits for their ladies’ team. Additionally, we have donated £1200 to Haverhill Silver Band to fund their visit to London to perform at the Royal Albert Hall for their first-ever entry in the premier banding of the national brass band championships.
The sponsorship of Haverhill Town FC was provided in time for the club’s 2022/23 season, providing the team with sustainable and environmentally friendly kits that will endure up to three years of playing time.
Haverhill Town FC is a prominent grassroots club within Haverhill that promotes football across all genders. The ladies’ team encourages players spanning a variety of ages to play, ranging from 20-45 years old. Keen to attract new joiners, the club actively encourages women to try out the sport in a bid to further build upon female representation in football teams across Haverhill and wider Suffolk.
Our donation for Haverhill Silver Band will be integral in reducing costs for the band as they travel to London for the national brass band championships. The band traces its roots back to the 1820’s and has long been a well-established group in Haverhill for an estimated 200 years. The band reflects the area’s rich musical history, which it intends to solidify and celebrate when competing in the 2022 championships.
Matthew Watson, Secretary at Haverhill Town FC, commented: “Redrow has continuously been supportive of the club having recently contributed towards the U16 team’s rain jackets. We would like to express our gratitude towards Redrow for their assistance during our partnership. The kits purchased with the donation will provide the ladies team with kits lasting 3 years made from sustainable materials, ensuring the ladies look sharp for many years to come!”
David Stevens, Chairman at Haverhill Silver Band, commented: “We are absolutely delighted to be recipients of Redrow’s sponsorship. This donation will be integral to covering the expenses of the Silver Band as they travel to the Royal Albert Hall for their first appearance at the Championship Section National Finals, the equivalent to Haverhill Rovers playing against Manchester City in the FA Cup Final! The band gained this opportunity through winning the London and Southern Counties regional championships in March and it is the first time any band from Suffolk will have appeared in these finals.”
