Builder Book UK is a local initiative run by authors Jude Lennon and Natalie Reeves Billing aims to improve the lives of children and young families through storytelling, creativity, fun and learning.
The interactive den building session was held with year three and four pupils at St Mark's Catholic Primary School.
During the session, the children met Booksy the Builder Bug who lives on a construction site. They learnt about his work uniform and why he needed to wear a hard hat, hi-vis and safety boots.
“The children then used role play to bring Booksy's story to life and with one child in each group in the role of site manager, they created imagination dens,” said Jude. “They were very enthusiastic and joined in brilliantly.”
Miss Bradshaw, head teacher at St Mark’s Primary Catholic School said: ‘The children thoroughly enjoyed the session and really enjoyed the practical activity of building an imagination den.”
Amy Bates, area sales manager at Redrow Lancashire, added: “We’ve supported Builder Book UK previously, but this was the first workshop we’ve hosted with the team. It was a great event, and the pupils were very eager to get involved. Thank you to Miss Bradshaw and all the teaching staff for letting us visit.”
We are currently building at two developments in Halewood The Finches at Hilton Grange, on Lower Road, and Grace Fields at Hilton Grange located on Greensbridge Lane. The new communities offer a mix of three, four and five-bedroom properties from our Arts and Crafts inspired Heritage Collection.
They also form part of the significant East Halewood Sustainable Extension, a masterplan to build high-quality new homes for the area.
