Community groups and good causes in Lowton, near Leigh, could receive a much-needed boost with the launch of a £2,000 community grants scheme.
We’re offering four grants of £500 each to community groups, charities or other good causes based in, or serving, the area around its new development Oakwood Fields, Lowton.
Sian Pitt, sales director for Lancashire, said: “As we launch our new development in Lowton, we wanted to offer our support to the local community as a part of our commitment to being a good neighbour.
“There are so many great causes, organisations and groups in this area doing wonderful work to support the community and we want to hear from them about how we can help. Any not-for-profit group can apply for a £500 grant for whatever they need, just by telling us a little about the project and how it benefits those living in and around Lowton.
“These community grants are designed to support small projects at the heart of local life that can potentially make a big difference. It could be to buy new tables for a community hall, sponsor a sports team or provide outdoor play equipment for a toddler group,” Sian added.
The community grants are in addition to more than £400,000 of contributions. We’re providing to the local community around our development in Lowton as part of the planning process. With over £175,000 going to local schools, £130,000 to local play areas and £110,000 to Pennington Flash Country Park to improve the area for new and existing residents.
Located in a semi-rural location, the development will have just over 100 three and four-bedroom homes. To register your interest contact our sales team on 01942447712 or visit www.redrow.co.uk/oakwoodfields
