We launched the Halewood Community Fund to help community groups, charities or other good causes based in, or serving, the area around out two new developments in the town - The Finches at Hilton Grange, off Lower Road, and Grace Fields at Hilton Grange, off Greensbridge Lane.
Eight local groups will now share the fund of £6,000, including a football team, a children’s mental health charity and Halewood Town Council.
Halewood Town Council applied for funds to support the Platinum Jubilee Celebration event. The town council received £1,000 towards the celebratory event, which was held at the Hollies Field in Halewood.
Lynn O’Keeffe, community projects officer at Halewood Town Council said: “Our Jubilee event was a great success, even the weather didn’t dampen the atmosphere.
“The day was enjoyed by the whole community; we would like to say a huge thank you to Redrow for our funding and for attending the event as part of the local community.”
The first phase of 196 new homes is currently underway at The Finches at Hilton Grange; a further 148 homes are being built at Grace Fields at Hilton Grange, both are part of the East Halewood Sustainable Extension.
As well as new homes, the developments will include green open spaces and wildlife habitats, providing places for future homeowners to enjoy nature on their doorstep.
To support the growth of the neighbourhood we’ve agreed to significant investment to improve local facilities, from healthcare and schools to highways, bus services and even equipment for the local leisure centre as part of the planning agreement.
The community fund is in addition to these statutory requirements.
