Sales Manager Gavin Powell will use his new position to effect positive change to improve not only customer experiences but also his colleagues’ work experiences too.
29-year-old Gavin Powell, who lives in Leyland, has been promoted to sales manager for our Buckshaw Village based Lancashire division.
Gavin started with us in 2013 as a sales consultant who then climbed the ladder to trainee area sales manager in 2015 before becoming an area sales manager in 2017.
His latest promotion will see him work alongside the directors and provide input to business decisions that, in turn, will positively affect the customer experience while ensuring business efficiency.
“A lot of my new role will contribute to further improving the experience of every single customer through a new customer service taskforce that I am leading. I’ll be working closely with senior managers from each department to develop and implement changes and introduce new procedures. I’ll also take a lead role in the recruitment and promotion of current members of the sales team,” says Gavin.
Gavin is continuing to manage four of the division’s developments including The Brook and The Oaks at Taylor’s Chase, Warrington; Fox Meadows and Saddleworth View, in Oldham, where he is ensuring that all sales consultants are motivated to provide five-star customer service.
Gavin says his promotion feels like recognition of his hard work over the past year and gives him the confidence to know that he is capable of aiming high in his career: “It’s helping me to take more responsibility and get involved at a higher level. I’ve always wanted to affect positive change to improve not only our customer experiences but also those of our employees.”
Gavin says some of the highlights of the past year include mentoring senior sales consultant, Ciara Banks, through her promotion and being recognised during our annual national sales conference as going above and beyond for his team of sales consultants.
Sian Pitt, sales director for Lancashire said: “Gavin has such a positive influence on his team and is a real driving force behind pushing them to work to the best of their ability. He’s very deserving of his promotion, all before he’s turned 30. I’m looking forward to seeing all his hard work come to fruition and continue to enjoy a successful career at Redrow.”
