Amy, 27, from Woolton, Liverpool, says her hard work over the last 12 months has been rewarded as she continues to hit major career milestones within our Lancashire division.
Amy first joined our graduate scheme in October 2015, after gaining a degree in History and Politics from Liverpool Hope University. After completing the three-year graduate scheme she started as a sales consultant. However due to a knee injury, Amy transferred into an office-based role at the division’s Chorley headquarters and from there took up the role of sales co-ordinator.
“After being a sales co-ordinator for three and a bit years, it was time for a new challenge which is when I applied for the trainee area sales manager role as I knew I could progress up the career ladder from there,” says Amy.
After being a trainee area sales manager for just over a year, Amy is now an area sales manager.
“As area sales manager, my day-to-day tasks involve inspecting plots with the sales and site teams, exploring marketing opportunities, meeting with the customer service manager to check in on our customers as well as working closely with the sales consultants. The overall aim of my role is to make sure everyone works as a team to provide the best possible experience to our customers.”
Amy, who moved into her own first home two days before Christmas, says the last year has pushed her outside of her comfort zone but this has been a positive for her: “Five months after becoming a trainee area sales manager we went into the initial lockdown and to be working from home and running a number of sites was challenging.”
Amy was behind the launch of Worden Gardens in Leyland in February 2020, just before the initial lockdown: “This was the first site I’d managed from the ground up to launching and it has been one of the division’s most successful sites, selling 32 homes since we launched and, so far, welcoming 15 residents.
“Working throughout the pandemic and looking after a team was a proud moment for me, my team and the business. Being promoted after all that proves, not only to myself, but also to the company that I am comfortable in the role and doing the job well. I could not have done any of this without the support of my colleagues, the team and our sales director Sian.”
Sian Pitt, sales director for Lancashire said: “Redrow is 100% committed to training and promoting from within the business and Amy is a perfect example of this. I’m looking forward to seeing more great accomplishments from Amy and continuing our work together at developments across the region.”
