Nestled in the beautiful Ribble Valley and surrounded by rolling hills, while still being close to shops, restaurants and schools, it’s easy to see why so many families and couples have chosen to move there.
And, with additional homes available for sale at the Whalley Road development near Clitheroe, there’s a new team waiting to welcome more: from the sales consultants who’ll guide owners through the buying journey, to the site manager whose job it is to make sure the property they choose is perfect from the moment they step through the door.
“We have a team of people at Oak Leigh Gardens whose mission it is to make sure that everything is spot on,” says Sian Pitt, sales director for Lancashire.
“That extends from the sales team who might be a first contact and will take customers from reservation to completion, to the construction teams building the homes, and customer care colleagues who want to make sure buyers continue to have a positive journey after moving in.
“Every one of them is passionate about what they do, so every Redrow customer can be assured of our commitment to them.”
It’s an award-winning crew too.
Senior sales consultant Paul Fishwick, 34, has been working with us for almost 10 years after swapping a career in estate agency sales. He has worked on a number of developments, most recently Worden Gardens in Leyland where he won Sales Consultant of the Year for Redrow Lancashire.
He is joined by sales consultant Dawn Morters, 55, who also joined the company just under 10 years ago.
What makes Oak Leigh Gardens special?
Paul: “Most of the properties are stonebuilt so it’s a prestigious site, and driving onto it, there’s a really nice vibe. The development is spacious too, plot sizes are fantastic and there are pockets of cul-de-sacs and lots of open green spaces and ponds, and it’s surrounded by hills and open countryside with lovely walks around.”
Dawn: “I agree with Paul, it’s the location that makes this most special. It’s countryfied and yet it’s close to all the amenities and network connections. It has a real village and community feel, it’s a close-knit area where people have that sense of belonging.”
Why a Redrow home?
Paul: “Redrow homes are so well-designed; and they are as aesthetically pleasing to the eye as they are a five-star, quality build. There is attention to detail in a Redrow home and each offers a high specification.”
Dawn: “Redrow has a reputation for quality, but it’s also the street scenes that stand out for me. There are bigger driveways so you’re not straight onto the road, the houses are well-positioned and there is a feeling of space.”
Oak Leigh Gardens has homes from both the Heritage and Harwood Collections?
Paul: “It does, and that gives people choice and means there is something for everyone. The Heritage Collection tends to offer the larger homes and has a higher specification, while the Harwood homes are smaller properties – that makes them more affordable but no less desirable. While the spec differs slightly, the same quality of build is there along with the option to upgrade, and the Harwood range has sold well.”
Leonie Shorrock, 36, is another award-winning member of the team. Leonie has been with us for six years and was voted Customer Service Employee of the Year in 2021.
As customer service manager it’s her role to guide customers when they see their home for the first time and stay in touch for the first three months after moving in, responding to any issues to ensure total satisfaction.
Leonie, says: “My favourite part is the home preview because customers have been building up through the sale journey and then they get to see the house for the first time. They are excited and it’s a nice event.
“I take over from the sales team and become a point of contact, making sure homeowners are happy, which I love because I’m very much a people person. I am also a problem solver so if there are any snags, or someone can’t quite work the heating system, I have the answer or can sort it out. I enjoy that.”
Site manager Rob Jones, 27, has been with us for 10 years, training as a bricklayer before getting onto the management ladder.
Why do Redrow homes stand out from other new builds?
Rob: “It’s the detail. While other builders may build plainer houses, a Redrow home is much more detailed by comparison; you have the great street scenes and the way they present themselves – nothing is cramped together and every street looks different. It’s a nice environment to live in.”
What is your favourite house style and why?
Rob: “I like the Canterbury four-bed detached because of the open feel to the ground floor. You have the huge kitchen diner and the double doors into the lounge area, and two great big patio doors which let in an enormous amount of light. You have the study at the front and that double garage. It looks so presentable from outside and liveable from within.”
What is it like overseeing the build of both Heritage and Harwood house styles?
Rob: “I enjoy managing the build of the two ranges. It means the houses are built consistently and the quality is the same. We also have stone-built homes at Oak Leigh Gardens which add more character to the site.”
Also overseeing the development is sales manager Gavin Powell and new area construction manager Barry Holden.
