Oldham school children will benefit from additional outdoor learning resources – including a construction themed play area - thanks to our donation.
Whitegate End Primary School received £300 from our Oldham Community fund, which was used to purchase items for their new outdoor learning and play space. This included a sand pit, a tools bench and some tools, where budding young builders can practice their skills.
Lynda Moore, Chair of the Whitegate End PTA, who sourced the funding on behalf of the school, said: "Thanks to the £300 grant from Redrow we were able to provide a workbench with hacksaws and hammers for the children to enjoy in their new outdoor learning area.”
The donation was provided through our Oldham Community Fund, which has shared a total of £5,000 between good causes that help people and communities in the Oldham area.
Lancashire sales director Sian Pitt said: “We’re particularly delighted that Whitegate End Primary School used the funding towards an outdoor classroom, where children can learn all about building through play and imagine they are working on their very own construction site. We hope this will inspire the next generation of engineers, architects and builders.”
Our Oldham Community Fund was launched following the opening of the Saddleworth View development, in the Moorside area of Oldham. To find out more visit www.redrow.co.uk/saddleworthview.
