On Saturday, July 29 at The Grange at Yew Tree Park in Burscough, we’ll host a day of outdoor games including limbo and noughts and crosses and local children are invited along to play.
There will also be free face painting, traditional ice cream and pizza for visitors, and it is open to those living on the development and everyone in the surrounding community.
The event marks the start of our national ‘Please Play Here’ campaign, set up to encourage children to spend more time outdoors this summer. The campaign is headed by children’s psychologist and professor at Exeter University, Professor Helen Dodd, who is working with Redrow as an expert advisor and ‘head of Playmaking’ to help develop inspiring play friendly communities for residents across the North West.
“It’s really important to encourage outdoor play and we’ve got a day planned for the whole family to enjoy at The Grange,” said Sian Pitt, sales director for Redrow Lancashire.
“The event is open to all and free to attend, so come and join us.”
Our developments are in fact designed with play in mind, with wider streets and cul de sacs to encourage young residents to come outdoors and will set the standard for other developers in prioritising children’s need for outdoor play.
Our ‘Please Play Here’ event at The Grange will be held from 11am – 4pm, on Saturday, July 29th, 2024.
