Carol Redston was named as Redrow Lancashire’s Sales Consultant of the Year and James Goddard was named as Redrow Lancashire’s Customer Services Employee of the Year.
Both team members were presented with the accolade at our annual customer conference.
Carol, who is based at Bishop Meadows, in Oldham, has been employed since 2018. “I have worked in the construction industry for many years, working with a number of different housebuilders before joining the team at Redrow,” said Carol.
“I visited a Redrow development in Lancashire and, after looking around the show homes and seeing how professional the team were, I said to myself – I want to work there.” Carol is a self-proclaimed ‘people person’, which fits in perfectly with her customer facing role. She is the first contact for potential customers and home buyers moving into their new homes.
“The award win was such a shock. I was still smiling a week later and received lots of well wishes, it was really special. Thanks to all the team.”
Based at Lancashire’s head office in Chorley, James has been working with us for the past two years as a customer care technician. “I started my career as an apprentice joiner, working as a site joiner before leaving to pursue my passion as a professional golfer. I qualified as a PGA professional in 2017 and became a full-time golf coach at before leaving to return to joinery,” said James, 36.
“As a joiner I always enjoyed the more intricate work revolving around a detailed finish, and I’ve also held previous roles which were customer facing, so this is a perfect fit.” The main focus of James’ role is customer satisfaction and to ensure that the customer is left with a final product they expect.
“My favourite part of the job is the job satisfaction I get from customer interaction. By the end of a conversation I’m often on first name terms with the customer,” said James.
Claire Jarvis, managing director for Redrow Lancashire, said: “Carol is a really strong team player and one we all know we can rely on. She has continued to deliver strong sales no matter the challenges faced. Carol is able to demonstrate our premium Redrow product brilliantly, and has also embraced technology this year, leading the way for her colleagues in producing personalised video messages for her customers.
“James is also a key member of the team, not only within customer services but also within the wider business. He is a great ambassador for Redrow Lancashire, and his colleagues and customers alike speak so highly of him.
