Our Midlands division, which is currently building new homes at Amington Garden Village, on Mercian Way, has presented Stoneydelph Primary School with a £250 donation to support its fundraising events.
The trail featured scarecrows specially crafted by pupils, including those inspired by Winston Churchill, Humpty Dumpty and Superman, and was open to friends and families of the school. The activity was part of a series of fundraising events organised by the Stoneydelph Primary School; which raised over £1,000 in total, all of which will go toward enhancing local pupils’ school experience with day trips and new equipment.
Elaine Cartwright, Sales Director for the Midlands, said: “Stoneydelph Primary School puts pupils’ wellbeing and learning experience at the centre of everything they do, so when they came to us with an ambitious project to raise funds, we were thrilled to be able to help.
“It’s been a challenging year for many, so we’re over the moon to see the results of their fundraising events, including their scarecrow trail – and we’re sure the funds will make a big difference to local pupils.
“Initiatives like this are key to creating and supporting thriving communities, so we’re looking forward to hearing all about Stoneydelph Primary School’s future day trips very soon.”
Sarah Gill, Teacher at Stoneydelph Primary School, added: “Pupils loved creating the scarecrows, it was a really fun and creative challenge for everyone involved, and the event was a resounding success.
“Organising a set of fundraising events, including the scarecrow trail, under current restrictions was challenging, but we’re thrilled to have raised £1,000 overall. This will undoubtedly make a big difference to our pupils’ learning experience, and we’re already looking forward to putting the funds to good use and organising an educational, inspiring day trip.
“We’d like to say a big thank you to the Redrow team for their contribution.”
