As part of its community fund initiative, Redrow Midlands has donated funds to the Friends of Droitwich Railway group to support its work.
Our Midlands division, which has just sold out at The Orchards, on Pulley Lane, is dedicated to supporting local communities in and around its developments.
The Friends of Droitwich Railway formed in May this year and will work with the Worcestershire Community Rail Partnership, West Midlands Trains and other partners to improve the station as a gateway for visitors to the town, enhance the station’s heritage and support with refurbishment.
The donation will be used to enable the volunteer group to improve the passenger experience and help to encourage visitors and rail passengers to revisit the station. The group is planning to regenerate the garden area at the station, including installing two brand new wooden planters ready for spring.
Martin Jones, chairman at the Friends of Droitwich Railway, said: “On behalf of everyone at the Friends of Droitwich Railway we would like to thank Redrow Midlands for its kind donation to support our groups essential work.
“Without the generous donations from organisations like Redrow Midlands we would not be able to continue the transformation of the station. Thank you!”
Elaine Cartwright, Sales Director for Midlands, commented: “We are excited to be helping the Friends of Droitwich Railway and their ‘trains-formation’ of the local station.
“The addition of new plants will undoubtedly improve the appearance of the station and encourage more visitors to the area.
“We hope that by donating to this local volunteer group they will be able to continue their important work improving the station. We look forward to seeing the transformation very soon.”
The donation forms part of our Midlands Community Fund, which will see us donate a total of £5,000 to local organisations throughout 2021 and into 2022.
We’ve just sold out at The Orchards, on Pulley Lane. Droitwich is a popular place to live just 33 miles south of Birmingham with great transport links North and South due to the nearby M5. This Worcestershire market town is an ideal location for people to live and thrive.
We’re also building new homes at the nearby Poets Grange. Located five miles south of the historic Stratford-upon-Avon, the development is part of the wider Meon Vale scheme which will feature a leisure hub, sports pitches and plenty of public open space once complete. Add in the great transport links to Warwick, Worcester, and Birmingham, combined with all the cultural heritage and charm of Shakespeare's birthplace, and you have the ideal location to settle down and raise a family.
