We are supporting Tamworth hygiene bank

In Midlands we are supporting a local initiative to combat hygiene poverty in the community.

Redrow Homes Midlands launched a drop-off point at its office in Kinsall Green to collect products on behalf of Tamworth Hygiene Bank for families in need in the community.

The Hygiene Bank is a community initiative giving hygiene, personal care and household products to those who need them – a service which, since the pandemic, has seen a surge in demand.

The Midlands housebuilder saw team members drop off a huge volume of donations, from toothbrushes to shampoo, and deodorant and washing powder. We also included 350 bars of soap in the donation.

Elaine Cartwright, sales director for our Midlands division, said: “The Hygiene Bank provides vital support for so many people in the area, and one of our key values is to help create thriving communities, so we were delighted to help.

“To have collected such a huge volume of donations is wonderful, and I’d like to personally thank all of the Hygiene Bank volunteers for everything that they do. I hope that the donations will make this difficult time a little easier for those in need.”

Marie Ballard, Project Coordinator at The Hygiene Bank, said: “Here at The Hygiene Bank, we support those in our community, and over recent months the need in the local area has increased greatly.

“The pandemic has pushed more people into poverty, and so more people than ever now need our help. The donations collected will certainly go a long way towards supporting local people, so we’d like to say a big thank you to the Redrow team.”

The donations will be shared with some of the most in need families in Tamworth, nominated by local schools and healthcare professionals.
