With over 2,300 employees, our ‘1,000 Days’ employee campaign aims to shine a spotlight on volunteering and encourage colleagues to pledge their time to help those that need it the most.
We’re inviting colleagues to collectively achieve 1,000 days of volunteering with employees able to choose their own preferred cause or project or take part in one of our many community projects near our developments. If each employee used both days of volunteering leave, we would be contributing over 4,600 days to initiatives across England and Wales.
Building thriving communities is at the heart of everything we do, and we recognise the difference we can create through supporting our local communities and charitable projects. We know that several of our colleagues feel passionately about supporting their local causes and started volunteering at the start of the pandemic and were using their own time to do so. For example, Nalab Alaf, from our Eastern team gave her time and support to the NHS, delivering vital medicine to vulnerable people as well as providing transportation to and from the hospital.
We also recognise the benefits of volunteering in supporting our personal and professional growth. Whether it’s meeting new people and working as part of a team or building self-confidence and developing leadership skills, Redrow in turn benefits from the skills that volunteering brings.
The 1,000 Days pledge is ultimately about supporting our colleague community to make a difference by giving them a little more time, and to inspire our teams all over England and Wales to give that time to local charities and services that need support.
We hope that the initiative will bring our community together to lend a helping hand, as well as celebrating the positive contribution they will make.
