Redrow is set to launch a brand-new show apartment at The Mill at Springfield, its popular community of homes in Maidstone, the former site of the Whatman Paper Mill.
The official launch event is taking place this Saturday (30th July), giving aspiring homeowners the chance to view and experience the modern riverside apartment first-hand, all while enjoying pizzas and cocktails, served from 11am through to 3pm.
Once fully built, the scheme will house 140 bespoke one- and two-bedroom apartments, situated along the River Medway, with some benefitting from views of Whatman Park on the opposite bank. They all feature open plan kitchen-dining and living areas, with integrated Bosch appliances. Two bedroom apartments have a master bedroom with an ensuite and will enjoy a private balcony, ideal for alfresco dining, entertaining or relaxing. All properties come with allocated parking, some of which is situated in a gated, under croft car park.
Joanna Wiley, Area Sales Manager at Redrow South East, commented: “It is fantastic to be launching our show apartment so home hunters can really envision what their new home could look like, while learning about the buying process and location from our experienced sales team.
“It really is an area with so much to offer and an ideal spot for first time buyers, those looking to move outside of London, through to ‘right sizers’ looking for a lock up and leave home. We look forward to welcoming lots of visitors to the launch event this weekend.”
The site preserves much of the historic heritage with the former paper mill’s iconic Grade II listed chimney, Rag Room and listed beam all being retained and restored. James Whatman founded the paper mill in 1733 where he and later his son pioneered several innovations in the industry, including the invention of wove paper, used for art and printing. Once complete this community will comprise of 295 modern homes.
The Mill at Springfield is located in one of Kents most desirable towns. It is in the ideal location for those working in both Maidstone or London, with the town being just a ten-minute walk from the development and the station providing links to London Victoria in less than an hour.
In the heart of the Garden of England, Maidstone is also close to an abundance of orchards, hop gardens and romantic villages, and vineyards, such as the renowned Biddenden Vineyards and residents can explore the neighbouring Whatman Park, which is made up of 18 acres of woodland and open space.
Prices for homes at The Mill at Springfield start from £219, 995.
