Our South East division is thrilled to announce the acquisition of a 19.5-acre parcel of land on Quinton Road, Sittingbourne, and 3.5-acre site in at The Maltings in Rainham. Across both sites, we have plans to deliver 184 new homes, with a combined Gross Development Value in excess of £58.7million.
Amber Fields, Sittingbourne
The site, known as Land Adjacent to Quinton Farm House, has been acquired with a detailed planning consent and is allocated within the Swale Adopted Local Plan. Alongside the new homes, we are proposing pockets of green open spaces, including a community orchard and allotments, ideal for those looking to ‘grow their own’.
The plans will see the land transformed into Amber Fields, a selection of beautifully designed two to four-bedroom family homes from our award-winning Heritage Collection.
As part of the plans, we are contributing over £2.7million to the wider community through an s106 agreement, which includes funding towards the local NHS services, education, highways and social care.
Amber Fields will be located to the north west edge of the town. Residents will benefit from Sittingbourne’s connectivity, with trains to the Capital taking just under an hour.
Manor Court, Rainham
In addition, the team has acquired a 3.5-acre site in Rainham known as land at The Maltings, where the housebuilder has proposals to deliver 29 new homes.
The land will be transformed into Manor Court, our latest launch in Rainham following the sell-out success of the 134-home Manor Park development which sits adjacent to the new site. At Manor Court, 22 homes will be available for private sale, the remaining seven will be affordable.
The homes will range in size from three- to four-bedrooms, all from our award-winning Heritage Collection, effortlessly combining the charm and architecture of the early 20th century arts and crafts movement, with spacious and modern interiors.
The new acquisitions take the division up to 12 active or forthcoming sites across Kent, including Ebbsfleet Green, its flagship 900-home scheme at Ebbsfleet Garden City. The team has further expansion plans for the wider South East region in 2021, with a number of potential transactions in the pipeline.
Glen Wells, Land Director for the South East division, comments: “These two site acquisitions represent an exciting step forward for our division as we look to expand further across the South East this year.
“With an increased number of homeowners moving out of the Capital to more suburban or rural locations, Sittingbourne and Rainham represent two great areas to deliver a range of new homes, each catering for a range of buyer demographics.
