Redrow South Midlands, which is currently building new homes at Hedera Gardens on Baldock Road, has presented the 10th Royston Scout Group with a donation of £590 as part of its Community Fund initiative.
The funds will be used to support the renovation of the group’s existing hut, which serves as a safe and welcoming space for local youngsters to make new friends, develop important life skills, and pursue new hobbies.
The scout hut has been loved by Royston children since its installation over 30 years ago. Now an essential part of local community life, the hut serves as a space where young people learn to work in teams and take on new challenges at the weekly meetings.
10th Royston Scout Group is a youth group which actively engages and supports children, aged six to 16, in their personal development by empowering them to make positive contributions to society through creative and memorable opportunities that benefit others.
Louise Griffin, Group Scout Leader at 10th Royston Scout Group, said: “We are thrilled to have received this donation from Redrow South Midlands which will be used to maintain our scout hut. This donation will help bring together more young members of the Royston community together through a love of adventure – thank you again Redrow!”
