Dean and Alix created an impressive Christmas lights display in the front garden of their home at Kingsland Park, on Goodwood Avenue, to raise funds for Cynthia Spencer Hospice.
Based in Northampton, the charity provides specialist palliative care for those with life limiting illnesses who live in South Northamptonshire, and offers a range of services to its users, including physical, psychological and social care. The hospice is largely funded by donations, meaning initiatives such as Dean and Alix’s are important for its running.
Dean and Alix, who moved in their new home earlier this year, are familiar with the services the hospice offers, having had a family member in their care. So far, they have raised £350, including £200 from us, via their Just Giving page and a collection box at the development’s sale centre.
Dean said: “We’ve always enjoyed decorating our home in the run up to Christmas, but it’s incredibly special to put up decorations in your new home for the first time.
“This year, we wanted to make it extra special by raising funds for Cynthia Spencer Hospice, a cause that’s very close to our hearts. It’s wonderful to be able to combine festivities with raising funds so they can continue supporting those in the community. We’d like to say a big thank you to Redrow for their support, our wonderful community at Kingsland Park and to everyone who has donated.”
Suzanne Irons, Sales Director for South Midlands, said: “When we heard about Dean’s wonderful initiative, we knew we had to help.
“As members of the Northampton community, we are keen to support the local people, including organisations such as Cynthia Spencer Hospice. The services they provide to people across South Northamptonshire are vital, so we couldn’t be prouder to have contributed to Dean’s fundraising drive.
“The display looks fantastic too, and we’d like to invite anyone local to drive by our development in the evening to see them – and donate if they can.”
