A love of working with people and a passion for property inspired professional painter and decorator James Lewis from Cardiff to hang up his brushes and start a new career as an apprentice in customer service with us.
23 year old James completed a diploma in painting and decorating with the New Skills Academy in 2018 having previously attended Corpus Christi High School in Cardiff. His experience of being a self-employed painter and decorator and dealing with customers means that he is now loving his new role as a customer service apprentice.
James said: “I’ve always had an interest in property and my time as a painter and decorator made me realise how much I like working with people and solving problems. I also love learning new things which is why I took the opportunity to apply for an apprenticeship with Redrow because it includes all aspects of carpentry, plumbing and brickwork.
“It would have been easy for me to just focus on my painting and decorating business but I wanted to expand my knowledge and get the experience of working for a big company that really puts customers first and values its people. I’m learning so much and really enjoying the interaction that I have with our customers. No two days are the same and I know I’m lucky to be part of such a professional and knowledgeable team that are all helping our customers to enjoy a better way to live.”
We offer a two-year apprenticeship in customer services. The programme focuses on customer service and aftercare. More information is available here.
