We’ve teamed up with Keep Wales Tidy to become the first housebuilder in Wales to launch litter picking hubs.
We’re launching litter picking hubs at our showrooms in Cardiff which will allow the general public, community groups and businesses to borrow litter picking equipment to clean up their local area.
To celebrate the launch of the litter picking hub in Cwrt Sant Ioan, Cardiff, we’re hosting a hub launch event in partnership with Keep Wales Tidy on Thursday 30 September at 10am.
The litter picking hubs offer locals all the equipment needed to carry out a safe clean-up and keep their community looking beautiful. This includes litter pickers, hi-vis vests, rubbish bags and hoops. It has been set-up as part of the Caru Cymru initiative which aims to inspire everyone to take action and care for the environment.
Beverley Wookey, Sales Director in South Wales said: “We are delighted to be helping to make Cardiff a cleaner and safer place to live, play and work by supporting the great work that Keep Wales Tidy do. We’ve funded the litter picking hubs and kitted out local litter champions as part of our commitment to giving people a better way to live and look after their environment. We’re really looking forward to taking part.”
Keep Wales Tidy Chief Executive Lesley Jones said: “We’re incredibly pleased that Redrow is leading the way in setting up litter picking hubs at their show rooms in Cardiff. These hubs will help keep the local communities clean and litter free for people to enjoy.
The Redrow litter picking hubs in Cwrt Sant Ioan and Plas Ty Draw are open 10am until 5pm seven days a week. We encourage individuals, businesses and groups to make good use of these new facilities to play a part in improving their local environment.”
Caru Cymru has received funding through the Welsh Government Rural Communities - Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government
