Redrow South West’s Blundell’s Grange, on Blundell’s Road, unveiled a slip road between the A361 and Blundell’s Road this week, which is expected to reduce congestion and travel time for local people.
The Redrow team was joined by Tiverton Town Council and local MP, Richard Foord, to unveil the new addition, which is now open to the public.
The road is part of a £10m investment the housebuilder is injecting into the local area, with the brand-new infrastructure costing over £921,000.
Further contributions include £3.6m to support nearby education services, £852,000 towards improving cycle paths and transport infrastructure around the town centre, and £1.3m to creating a new community sports centre.
Sian Smith, Sales Director for Redrow South West, said: “We’re delighted to have supported with the creation of this new slip road which we know will benefit to the local community. After working closely with Mid Devon District Council and Devon Country Council to ensure everything is finished to highest standard, we’re thrilled to announce the road is officially open for business.
“The slip road will help reduce traffic through the town centre, as well as acting as a quicker and easier way for locals to reach the A371, making the commute to nearby towns and cities less of a chore. The brand-new road is just the start of the huge investment we’ll be injecting into the area, which includes support for education providers, a sports centre and cycle paths.
“We’re excited to continue our work in the area and would advise anyone interested in being part of this thriving community to come down to Blundell’s Grange and see the wonderful homes we have on offer!”
Councillor Andrea Davis, Devon County Council Cabinet Member with responsibility for Infrastructure and Development, said: “I’m pleased that the junction is now open. “It will open up access to future developments, which will help continue economic growth in the county and will help reduce the amount of traffic away from Halberton and Blundell’s Road.” Councillor Percy Prowse, Chair of DCC said: “It’s a pleasure to be able to officially open this major scheme and I want to thank local people for their patience will the work has been carried out.”
With homes starting from £435,000, Blundell's Grange is on the outskirts of the thriving, characterful market town of Tiverton. Surrounded by open countryside and with excellent transport connections, this development offers buyers an enviable quality of life. These two to five-bedroom homes also have commuter links to Exeter, Taunton and Bristol, while parents of growing families will be pleased to find a selection of nearby schools rated highly by Ofsted, and a range of private schools too.
