Residents at Great Oldbury are warmly invited to an afternoon of community-focused fun taking place on Saturday 11 June, on Great Oldbury Drive.
From 12pm-5pm, residents can come together to enjoy a complimentary BBQ, alongside a range of activities for all to enjoy, including live music from local artist Louisa Gaylard.
For cycling enthusiasts, Dr Bike and Bike Security Marking will be offering free bike safety checks. Meanwhile, Gloucestershire Constabulary Neighbourhood Police Team will be enabling those present to log their bikes on the BikeRegister, the National Cycle Database which tracks bikes should they be stolen.
‘Garden games and glitter’ will be arranged by The Door Youth workers, who are on hand to provide information on youth activities in the Great Oldbury area.
Residents can also get arty with Creative Sustainability CIC, who will be asking visitors what they love about Great Oldbury, as well as for any new ideas they may have for what they would like to see in the community.
Stroud-based video production experts MMO will be leading a smartphone filmmaking masterclass, so that those living at the Great Oldbury development can learn how to capture high quality footage on their smartphones – and maybe even contribute to the Great Oldbury Community Film.
Finally, residents can chat to reps from rail, bus and planners GCRP + PEP (Travel Plan Coordinators for Great Oldbury) for free travel information, leaflets and tips on all travel options available in the local area.
Charlotte Newnes, Area Sales Manager for South West said: “We are thrilled that such an exciting afternoon of activity has been organised for our residents at Great Oldbury. I encourage those who are able, to go and enjoy the food, live music and activities on offer.”
