In search for more space, Jordana (29) and Ben (30), purchased a home in October 2021 for themselves and new-born baby Rosie at Maple Walk, our community of homes in Liphook, East Hampshire.
Local fitness and dance instructor Jordana and her husband Ben, Watch Manager at Liphook Fire Station, opted for a three-bedroom semi-detached Letchworth house type, upsizing from their previous house located in the same area but with only two-bedrooms. The added space ensures they have space for Rosie, but also for Jordana to run her businesses.
Jordana explained: “With juggling two businesses and becoming parents, it became clear that we needed more space to balance our work and family lives. It was the driving factor behind moving home and opting to purchase a three-bedroom home at Maple Walk. We use one of the bedrooms as a nursery, while the other spare bedroom is my home office, helping to accommodate the running of my two businesses: fitness classes for other mums in the local area and a local dance school.”
Importance of location
Both Jordana and Ben knew they needed to stay in the Liphook area owing to their respective careers, but the family-friendly design and location of the Maple Walk community was certainly an added bonus.
Ben explained: “Due to my job at the Liphook Fire Station, we have always needed to be based in the surrounding areas of Liphook so I can get there quickly when needed. Jordana has also built up a strong local customer base for her dance and fitness classes over the several years we have lived here so it was preferable to avoid uprooting. We have always loved living in this part of the UK and Maple Walk’s location near the village centre enables us to enjoy all of the amenities Liphook has to offer, perfect for families of all ages and sizes.”
Located just over half a mile from the centre of the village, Maple Walk offers residents easy access to Liphook’s independent high street and village pubs, while also sitting on the cusp of the expansive South Downs National Park for those looking for peaceful retreats.
In addition, the development is in close proximity to a number of ‘Good’ or ‘Excellent’ primary and secondary schools. Bohunt School & Sixth Form rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted is just 1 minute down the road alongside Liphook Infants (13 minute walk) and Liphook Church of England Controlled Junior School (14 minute walk), both of which are rated as ‘Good’. Also nearby is a co-educational independent day school, Churcher’s College Junior and Senior School, Hollycombe Primary School, and Highfield and Brookham Independent School.
No fuss new-build ideal for new parents
When searching for their dream home, Jordana and Ben knew they wanted to purchase a new-build house so they could move into a property that was brand new and readymade without needing to conduct any additional building works.
Through buying their home off-plan, they could customise their properties during the early build stages, selecting various upgrades and extras using our digital platform MyRedrow.
Jordana explained: “We have always opted for new-build homes, having lived in one for over six years prior to moving to Maple Walk. Beforehand, we loved that we were able to choose several upgrades and extras for our home, such as downlights for the bathrooms, built-in wardrobes for the bedrooms and even a wine fridge for our kitchen island! The house is designed and tailored exactly to our tastes, and we couldn’t be happier with the end result.”
Once complete, Maple Walk will comprise 175 new homes taken from our award-winning Heritage Collection, ranging in size from two- to four-bedrooms. Inspired by the Arts & Crafts architectural movement of the 1930s, Heritage Collection homes boast intricately designed red or yellow brick exteriors, with traditional features such as gable ended roofs. Interiors are spacious, bright and modern, benefiting from high ceilings, large windows, and open plan living, ideal for homeworking.
