Much-awaited homes in Harrogate have proved popular after a successful first few months on sale.
Granby Meadows, off Claro Road, opened its doors in Spring this year and 21 homes have already been snapped up.
The development, that will eventually include 95 homes, has been selling off-plan and show homes opened in early August.
Steve Jackson, sales director for Redrow Yorkshire, said: “Before we launched this development we already had a long list of names on the waiting list. Post-launch the interest hasn’t stopped and we’re 21 sales in already, many of which came before we even opened the show homes.
“We always knew Granby Meadows would be popular because of where it is. Harrogate is one of the most sought-after places to live in the country and, not only that but it’s close to the well-known landmark of The Stray, which offers hundreds of acres of beautiful green space. People can enjoy the best of both worlds which is hugely important now.”
Granby Meadows is a natural extension of Redrow’s Devonshire Gardens development that completed in 2018. All homes hail from the housebuilder’s Heritage Collection which boasts traditional Arts & Crafts style exteriors complemented by contemporary and spacious open plan interiors.
Homes include a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached styles.
One of the styles currently available at Granby Meadows is the four-bedroom detached Oxford. Easily one of the housebuilder’s most popular houses, downstairs there is a good-sized lounge and kitchen/diner. It also has the added luxury of a separate utility room and cloakroom.
Upstairs the main bedroom has an ensuite and the three other bedrooms share a family bathroom.
For those looking for smaller properties, whether as first time buyers or downsizers, The Bakewell and The Buxton are both ideal.
The two-bedroom properties are both highly specified and have spacious ground floor layouts, each with a lounge and cloakroom at the front of the home and an open-plan kitchen/dining area at the back, with French doors leading out to a private garden.
Upstairs are two double bedrooms; bedroom one, which has an ensuite, and bedroom two has use of a separate family bathroom.
The first Buxtons and Bakewells will be ready to move into in early 2023 and are currently priced from £290,950 and £329,950 respectively.
As well as two fully-furnished show homes, Granby Meadows also has a four-bedroom view home that has been left deliberately ‘unfinished’ in parts, with many of the internal workings on display.
It’s a novel idea, prompted by the success of Redrow’s ‘hard hat’ tours that take customers on a tour of their home during what’s known as the ‘first fix’ stage of construction.
Inside the Harlech view home, various rooms are shown at different stages of build.. For example, the fourth bedroom has been plaster-boarded but not skimmed; bedroom three is at what’s known as second fix stage – all the structural work is complete and finishing work has been done prior to painting; and the main bedroom has been completely finished, painted and carpeted.
Having first-hand insight into the level of insulation installed as standard in a Redrow home serves as a reminder to customers of how new homes are generally better insulated than older, second-hand properties and therefore more efficient and cheaper to run. In fact, they could save homeowners an average of £2,600* annually, compared to an older home.
