Sustainable new homes

At Redrow, we're not just building houses, we're crafting sustainable homes and thriving communities that respect our planet. Our commitment to sustainability underpins everything we do, from responsibly sourced materials to enhancing local biodiversity. We’re all about making our communities better places to live.

Sustainable construction

Making sure our new homes are built sustainably is incredibly important to us. We take care to responsibly source materials for the interiors and exteriors of the houses we build.

Preserving & enhancing nature

Every Redrow development is designed with green spaces in mind. We strive to preserve and enhance natural surroundings, whether it's by creating new wildlife habitats, planting native species, or developing communal green areas for residents to enjoy.

You'll often find purpose-built walkways, cycle routes, and even playgrounds or wildlife sanctuaries within our communities. It's about providing beautiful spaces both inside and outside your home.

A community approach

Our developments are thoughtfully designed to integrate with the local environment and foster a genuine community spirit. We enhance existing facilities or build new ones to meet the needs of residents and the wider area.

We ensure homes are well-connected to local amenities by foot, public transport, or easy pathways. Some of our communities even feature dedicated schools, shops, or heritage hubs, offering you more than just a house – you get a true sense of belonging.

Do sustainable new homes cost more?

Not in the long run. Sustainable homes are built to last, require less maintenance, and often cost less to run thanks to smart design and natural resource conservation.

In fact, according to HBF data (January 2025) a brand-new home could be up to 65% more energy-efficient than an older home, meaning you could save up to £979 per year on your running costs*

We also aim to reduce waste and carbon emissions throughout the build process, and prioritise energy efficiency through the use of air source heat pumps and our dedicated Eco Electric and Eco Now properties.
