EducationBarrington CofE Primary, just a short walk from the development, is at the heart of village life. One of only two thatched schools in the country, it has combined traditional values with modern teaching since 1838, and is currently rated ‘good’ by Ofsted.
For older pupils, Sawston Village College is rated ‘good’ and described as ‘well positioned to become an outstanding school’, while Melbourn Village College is also rated ‘good’ and has the advantage of being close to Melbourn Station, so you can combine the school run with your morning commute.

LeisureFor a small village, Barrington has a big community spirit, with a whole host of events and sports taking place on the famous 22acre village green – reputed to be one of the largest in England. New residents will be welcomed to a variety of clubs and societies within the village, with Redrow contributing to improve local sports and leisure facilities.
Nearby Cambridge has everything you could want in the way of entertainment, with countless theatres, including the famous Cambridge Footlights, and no less than three major cinemas. The Fitzwilliam Museum is a fascinating place to spend a day and there are lots of other tourist attractions, including open top bus tours of the classic Cambridge colleges. TransportThe development lies just off the A10 linking Cambridge and London, with the M11 just a few miles further. Cambridge is just 8miles, Letchworth 20miles, Bedford 25miles and London around 65miles.
Foxton Station is just a mile and a half from the development, with trains to Cambridge in just ten minutes and direct to London in around an hour. There is also a regular bus service from the village to the city.
